Wow Christmas is here already. As moms we put so much effort and emotion into Christmas and it seems to come and go so fast. This year has been quick but actually quite relaxing. I guess after having such a crazy emotional Thanksgiving I decided to try to relax and not let the Christmas Holiday get out of control. I was somewhat prepared I think (it is only Christmas Eve and Santa hasn't come yet. Thank goodness for Walgreen's!) Actually D decided to step it up this year. I've always been the one. I have to admit I liked it but it will be fun to see what surprises he brings.
Tonight we had our sit down candle light dinner. I love how the kids get mesmerized by the candles. They are always so calm. Maybe we'll have candle light more often. We also had Sparkling Cider in fancy cups. There were no spills! Amazing! It really did turn out to be a positive experience. Hunter and I had a small tiff but David reminded me that he is only 9. Anyway, I wanted to write about one topic of conversation during dinner that was funny. The other day Nicklaus said that he wanted to marry me. I told him that I was already taken by his daddy. He said OK "then how 'bout I'll marry aunt Eve". I said "I'm sorry sweetie Aunt Eve is taken by Uncle 'Wayne". Then I explained that he would find a sweet little princess of his own someday. He was satisfied with that answer. So, tonight I asked the family, " what do you think Niwiss' wife is doing right now?". D said, "she's probably not born yet. I said "or she's crying, WAH!!!!" because all baby's cry during dinner, don't they?. It was fun to think of where our kids spouses might be tonight. Here are some of the ideas that we came up with. Stunts we decided was probably screaming from the bathroom "MOM, I'M DONE!". Wissa's husband is probably playing video games or being goofy at the dinner table. Bells husband is probably drawing on the walls. I guess we'll have to ask them what they were doing on Christmas Eve 2008. Wow, that will be crazy and I mean that literally given the drama that comes with extended family getting together. Right now we'll have to enjoy the little family that we have. That day will come too soon. I love our little family. We have so much fun! I look forward to making more of these special memories that we will share with those prince and princesses yet to come.
